Introduction
Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) Real Time PCR Kit(RUO)is intended for the quantitative in-vitro detection of HIV-1 RNA in human serum and plasma, to provide a reference for evaluating the prognosis of patients and the effectiveness of antiviral treatment.
HIV is the virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and weakens the human immune system. It was initially first identified in Central America in 1981. HIV is a lentivirus that infects cells of the human immune system and belongs to the retrovirus category. HIV is classified into types 1 and 2 (HIV-1 and HIV-2) based on serological reactions. HIV-1 is prevalent worldwide and is classified into groups M, N, and O based on genetic variability. Laboratory tests for HIV include antibody tests, qualitative and quantitative RNA tests, and CD4+ T cell counts.
