Infectious diseases are illnesses caused by harmful pathogens that get into your body. The most common causes are viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Because of transmission ways, the number of people infected by sexually transmitted diseases and respiratory infectious diseases is very large.
SHANGHAI, CHINA, February 1, 2023—Jiangsu Bioperfectus Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BioPerfectus”) is proud to launch four new PCR products: Mycoplasma Genitalium Real Time PCR Kit, Herpes Simplex Virus Real Time PCR Kit, Trichomonas Vaginalis Real Time PCR Kit and Respiratory Virus Panel (7) Real Time PCR Kit. Combined with our extraction solution, we could provide a Total PCR Solution for the early detection for sexually transmitted diseases and respiratory diseases which affect many people.
As WHO puts forward the global health strategies for sexually transmitted disease (STD), one of the most significant infectious diseases segmenting and profoundly impacting sexual and reproductive health worldwide, more and more attention has been focused on it. Despite the prevalence, most STDs have no symptoms and severe consequences beyond the immediate impact of infection, leading to unpleasant results.
The BioPerfectus Sexually Transmitted Diseases Total PCR Solution adopts real-time fluorescent PCR technology, intended for the in-vitro qualitative detection of Mycoplasma genitalium virus, herpes simplex virus and Trichomonas Vaginalis specific parasite, providing molecular evidence for early STDs diagnosis and also for high-risk STD population primary screening.
Mycoplasma Genitalium Real Time PCR Kit
Mycoplasma Genitalium (M. genitalium) is the smallest known self-replicating bacterium. It is a common cause of nongonococcal urethritis in males and cervicitis in females. If left untreated, M. genitalium infection can lead to adverse outcomes such as ectopic pregnancy and infertility, as well as increasing the risk of HIV transmission and infection. Higher M. genitalium prevalence rates, ranging from 4% to 38%, have been reported among sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinic attendees and cohorts with multiple STI risk factors. Early diagnosis and wide-range screening are crucial linkages in achieving prevention and treatment.
Herpes Simplex Virus Real Time PCR Kit
Infections with herpes simplex virus (HSV), known as herpes, are common globally. It is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by two types of viruses – herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). An estimated 3.7 billion people under the age of 50 (67%) have HSV-1 infection globally. Genital herpes caused by HSV-2 affect an estimated 491 million (13%) people aged 15–49 years worldwide. Early diagnosis is of great importance for general screening and proper treatment.
Trichomonas Vaginalis Real Time PCR Kit
Trichomoniasis is a common and treatable STD caused by infection with Trichomonas vaginalis (TV). Trichomonas vaginalis infection is worldwide distribution, over 170 million people are infected every year. About 70% of people with infection do not have any signs or symptoms. Some people get symptoms within 5 to 28 days after getting the infection. When causing symptoms, they can range from mild irritation to severe inflammation. Pregnant people with this infection are more likely to have their babies early. Also, their babies are more likely to have a low birth weight. Diagnosis is so important for specific groups that it could help prevent from bad influence.
Respiratory Virus Panel (7) Real Time PCR Kit
Globally, the incident cases of URIs reached 17.2 billion in 2019. Among all age groups, children under five years old suffered from the highest incidence.
Upper respiratory tract infections (URIs) are mainly caused by viruses, including rhinovirus, influenza virus, respiratory syncytial virus and so on. The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 further exposed the potential threats of respiratory viruses. URIs are important presentations for the reproduction and circulation of respiratory viruses.
Defining most of these patient diseases is difficult because the presentations connected with URIs commonly overlap and their causes are similar. The most common symptoms of URIs include coughing, a sore throat, nasal obstruction, and headache. Although those conditions are often self-limited and non-fatal, in some cases, URIs even induce severe complications, such as pneumonia, otitis media, glomerulonephritis, and myocarditis, thus further adding to the cost of healthcare resources.
The Respiratory Virus Panel (7) Real Time PCR Kit developed by BioPerfectus allows for the detection of multiple viruses including Influenza A virus, Influenza B virus, Respiratory syncytial virus, Human rhinovirus, Respiratory adenovirus, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Parainfluenza virus from human throat swab samples.
Dedicated to providing laboratories with comprehensive tests of sexually transmitted diseases and respiratory infectious diseases, BioPerfectus Total PCR Solution brings instruments and reagents. Pioneering in molecular diagnostics, BioPerfectus is always devoted to pursuing high quality, keeping innovating, and striving to solve health problems faced by mankind for a healthier future.
