Antigen tests can be used in a variety of testing strategies to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.  According to the presentation from Ph.D. John R Hackett, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center- “SARS-CoV-2: Virology and Evolving Diagnostic Paradigms” from #AACC2020, antigen testing could be used to identify infectious cases frequently while the patients are in the middle of infective stage and the viral load provides accurate detection results.
